Are Shipping Containers Airtight?
Shipping containers, including ones from Midwest Storage Containers, are designed with vents for air circulation so they are not airtight. This is critical for preventing condensation and other moisture from getting into your shipping container, where moisture could damage your belongings.
If you need an airtight container, modifications can be made so you get the shipping container you require, but you’ll be giving up protection from water intrusion and moisture as part of the tradeoff.
Are Shipping Containers Fireproof?
With their corrosion-resistant steel, shipping containers have a lot of fire resistance but they are not fireproof. This is part of why it’s critical to avoid storing any hazardous or flammable materials inside your container, as blazing-hot temperatures for an extended period will warp or even melt steel and damage the marine-grade flooring.

Are Shipping Containers Tornadoproof?
